Biography

Jared Schumacher is jointly appointed as an assistant professor of theology and Catholic studies. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University, a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School, a Master of Advanced Studies in Theology and Religion, and a Licentiate in Sacred Theology from Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, where he is also completing his Ph.D. in Political Theology. Prior to Schumacher's time in Belgium, he worked for three years at LCC International University in Klaipeda, Lithuania, teaching English and theology courses. Schumacher also worked as a spiritual formation coordinator at LCC with his wife, Caroline, with whom he shares seven wonderful children: Charlotte, James, John, Caliope, Jacob, Clare, and Cyprienne. In addition to theological ethics and political philosophy, Schumacher enjoys reading Catholic social teaching, learning more about the lives of the martyrs and saints, and staying abreast of secular and pop cultural movements, politics, and art criticism. He loves playing, watching, and coaching sports of all kinds, but especially baseball and football.
