Biography

Jill Nustad earned her Doctor of Science in Health Promotion and Wellness from Rocky Mountain University of Health Promotion, Provo, UT, Master of Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Ball State University, Muncie, IN, and Bachelor of Science with double majors in Biology and Health Secondary Education and minor in Physical Education. She has taught full-time at the University of Mary since 2000, founding the programs in Exercise Science and Clinical Exercise Physiology, and instrumental in the accreditation process for both programs. Nustad has practiced clinical exercise physiology in the combined areas of cardiac rehabilitation, adult fitness, youth fitness, exercise prescription with chronic disease and conditions, strength and conditioning, and research and higher education.

Involved at regional and national levels of the American College of Sports Medicine since 1991, Nustad has served two terms as the North Dakota representative for the Northland American College of Sports Medicine (NACSM), one term as President Elect, President, and Past President for NACSM, and is on the Legislative Committee for Clinical Exercise Physiology Association (CEPA). She facilitates student research and is published in the areas of body image disorders and cardiac health. Nustad enjoys exercising, hiking, golf, and reading.
