Biography

Janelle Olson, originally from Bismarck, North Dakota, serves as the program coordinator for the Bachelor of Science in Biomechanics program and Master of Science in Kinesiology program at the University of Mary. Janelle served as an adjunct professor at the University of Mary for seven years before transitioning into her full-time faculty and program coordinator role in 2015. In her current role, she has helped develop the curriculum for the biomechanics and kinesiology programs and serves as an assistant professor. 

Janelle’s passion for the study of human movement was nurtured through her personal running experience as an athlete and coach. In the educational environment, Janelle relishes the time spent engaging with students through the teaching and learning process. She enjoys sharing her knowledge about kinematics and kinetics of motion as students learn to carry out quantitative and qualitative analyses of human movement. Janelle is also thrilled to be able to expose students to the new 3D motion capture and force plate equipment at the University of Mary. Ultimately, she is grateful for the opportunity to foster student curiosity and witness student growth and discovery.
