Earn your MEd in your home district through the University of Mary’s Teacher Leadership Academy.

Developed in 2022 to meet the needs of teachers, students, and school districts across our state, the University of Mary’s Teacher Leadership Academy (TLA) provides access to a budget- and life-friendly master’s degree pathway for North Dakota's in-service K-12 educators. The Liffrig Family School of Education and Behavioral Sciences works together with local districts to deliver five consecutive semesters of graduate-level professional formation through a combination of on-site meetings and asynchronous online instruction. Thanks to this one-of-a-kind blended approach, TLA scholars can each earn an NDESPB-accredited Master of Education in Teacher Leadership over only 1.6 years while both continuing to teach full-time and reaping the benefits of in-person interaction with faculty, peers, and district leaders.

Program Highlights

  • Accommodating hybrid (in-district face-to-face and asynchronous online) format
  • Accelerated five-semester degree timeline
  • Cohort delivery model that promotes camaraderie among participants as well as professional network development
  • Spiraling inquiry-based curriculum tailored to both participant needs and district priorities
  • Experienced faculty mentors who share teaching responsibilities with district leadership
