Through our partnership with the Southwest Institute of Montessori Studies—an affiliate of Association Montessori Internationale (AMI)—we are now able to offer AMI Montessori Diploma Training on our campus, with a unique and deeply Catholic emphasis you’ll find nowhere else.

AMI Assistant Diploma Course for Infants and Toddlers (Ages 0-3) – Summer 2026
This course is a thorough study of Montessori pedagogy for children from birth to three years old. The program integrates Montessori philosophy with medical and psychological perspectives on early childhood development. This course blends online instruction with two in-person summer modules.
Blended course: Online instruction plus two in-person summer modules at the University of Mary.
In-Person Module 1: July 20, 2026 – August 14, 2026
Online Sessions: February 23 – March 13, 2027, and April 26 – May 14, 2027

Ready To Enroll?
Begin your journey toward becoming an AMI-trained Catholic Montessori educator in just two steps.
Step 1: Apply for admission to the Southwest Institute of Montessori Studies (SIMS) and their AMI Montessori Diploma Programs.
Step 2: Register with the Catholic Montessori Institute (CMI) at Mary in order to complete your in-person modules on our campus and sign up for room and board or Catechesis of the Good Shepherd training as needed.
Once you have completed both steps, a CMI team member will contact you to ensure everything is prepared for your training experience. We are here to support you every step of the way!
