    What You’ll Learn

    The MSN to DNP Nursing Organizational Leadership program will prepare you to serve in a variety of clinical, organizational, and/or educational systems. Upon graduating with your nursing doctorate, you’ll be able to demonstrate clinical expertise, evidence-based decision-making, leadership, and advanced scholarship in nursing practice. Classes will teach you to:

    • Appraise health care organizations to assess strengths and weaknesses and facilitate organization-wide improvement in health care delivery.
    • Be a leader in knowledge translation and application of evidence-based practice.
    • Use informatics and patient care technology to improve health care outcomes in clinical practice and organizational systems.
    • Influence health care policy at the local, state, and federal levels to champion issues of quality, social justice, equality, and fiscal responsibility.
    • Manage cutting-edge innovations and change among interprofessional teams for purposes of advancing health care quality among patients, populations, and complex systems.
    • Apply Benedictine values to foster spiritual integrity and human dignity in health care.

    We welcome students from various backgrounds, including transfer students from regionally accredited colleges and universities and those with military or career and work experience. 

    How do I show my previous college, military, or work experience?

    • Official transcripts (if applicable) from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 should be submitted directly to the Office of Admissions.

      • Did you graduate from the University of Mary? Then we’ll get your Mary transcript for you!
      • At most other schools, you can request transcripts by going to the National Student Clearinghouse or by contacting the registrar’s office.

    • Students with previous career or work experience can earn credits for prior learning.
      • You can choose to test for prior learning credits — we convert your test scores into college credit.
      • You can request a portfolio review for prior learning credits. You’ll assemble documentation to show your experience, which will be reviewed and evaluated by an experienced faculty member.
    • Military experience can count towards a degree.
